The enlarged cable reel made of epoxy resin with black pigment lies on the floor and is irritating. Is it a remnant of construction work, a ready-made, or a classic sculpture? At second glance, clear traces of the working process can be seen: excess material that has run out of the shells, seams that have not been concealed. The sculpture reveals its own creative process. The cable wraps around the reel and plugs into its own socket at the top. It seems to draw its energy solely from itself. A self-contained cycle that is self-sufficient and at the same time has an attractive material aesthetic—a matte black whose surface gently refracts light and invites touch. The object could also be a tongue-in-cheek metaphor for a traditional, romanticized image of the artist: the self-creating genius who needs no external influences.
